Jesse Keyes was raised in Harrogate, TN until high school and Barbourville, KY throughout high school. Though both of these places are very small towns, he was eager to live and study in a slightly larger place like Richmond.

Novelis, the world’s leading producer and recycler of aluminum products recently donated $7,000 to support EKU’s annual Science and Mathematics summer camp, bringing their three-year total support for the Eeastern Kentucky University College of Science to $21,000.

EKU Alum Named an Inventor of the GPS

A global system that powers modern life was produced by decades of experimentation and hundreds of brilliant minds. One of those minds is an Eastern Kentucky University Colonel. Tom Logsdon, a 1959 graduate of EKU, was recently named one of 28 official inventors of the GPS by the U.S. Air Force.

Our third annual celebration of science and mathematics week will be held September 9 to 14, 2019. The event will feature special lectures, hands-on activities and campus tours for area high school students, a free planetarium show, and Family Nature Day at Maywoods.
