STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Love Richburg
Love Richburg and her family moved to Richmond, Kentucky when she was thirteen years old. She graduated from Madison Central High School in Richmond and decided to attend EKU.
In May, Ms. Richburg will graduate with dual degrees in physics and mathematics. She is currently conducting research with Dr. Thomas Jarvis of the physics department.
Ms. Richburg’s involvement at EKU stretches far beyond academics. She is currently serving as president of the Honors Student Advisory Council (HSAC), which organizes service events for EKU honors students, serves on the Student Advisory Board to the Dean of the College of Science, is a student representative on the Honors Advisory Committee (HAC) and is treasurer for the EKU Society of Physics Students. She has also been a tutor in the Physics Tutoring lab for the past three years.
Currently, Ms. Richburg is applying to Ph.D. programs in Physics and hopes to start graduate school in the fall of 2019. Her goal is to become a physics professor.
